"This Is Why We Adopt!"

     "This Is Why We Adopt" is a Facebook initiative from Project R.E.A.C.H. to spread the word that adopting is really cool and that the pets are amazing, valued, and appreciated family members. There has been stigma and misinformation out there that suggests animals who end up in shelters or rescues are "bad" or "broken," and that simply is not the case. Pets, when given a loving home, will return that love beyond even your wildest expectations. 

       At Project R.E.A.C.H., we feel that creating awareness about the benefits of adopting, as well as debunking myths about rescue animals, is essential to share with the community at large, in order to paint a clearer picture about the reality that companion animals face in our country. We truly believe that when people understand that adoption is the best way to add a new family member (instead of buying animals through stores that support puppy mills, etc.), they will be more open to spreading the word to promote activism for animal welfare and promoting the adoption of shelter pets!

       So here's the deal. We want to hear YOUR adoption story!

2. Upload a picture of your adopted pet (dog, cat, ferret, chicken, guinea pig, hamster, lizard, snake...and the list goes on and on) and share with us his or her story. Share with us why you choose to adopt!

3. Share your story with your friends and encourage them to become a part of Project R.E.A.C.H.

Project R.E.A.C.H. believes that when people are able to see the contented and loving faces of adopted pets, read their stories, and see all of the happy adoptive parents, they will know the true spirit behind adoption and animal rescue. That kind of love and enthusiasm is contagious! :)
